Who should take this course?
Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. Course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non-stressful learning environment.
EFR courses meet the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level ratings.
EFR courses are based on internationally recognized medical guidelines for emergency care.

What will you learn?
Primary Care (CPR)
- Learn the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies.
- Primary Care : Eight skills for aiding patients who aren’t breathing, have no heartbeat
- Plus, skills for aiding patients who may have a spinal injury, may be in shock or who may have serious bleeding
- How to perform CPR and continue to monitor the patient, so that you provide every possible chance of survival while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive
Secondary Care (First Aid)
- Learn first aid that eases pain and reduces the risk of further harm.
- Learn how to assess a variety of injuries and illnesses.
Care for Children
- Learn how to apply emergency care skills specific to helping infants and children with medical emergencies.
- Highly recommend for those who work with children or are likely to have to respond to emergencies involving youngsters.
CPR & AED
- Learn how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator).
First Aid at Work
- In some areas, such as Great Britain, Australia and Canada, governmental regulations call for enhanced CPR and first aid training for the workplace.
- It includes additional topics and skills to meet requirements for the work environment.
EFR Refresher
- Refresh your CPR and first aid skills every 24 months.
- Focusing on key skills, stay up-to-date and ready to lend aid when needed.

Equipment
Adult and infant CPR mannequins, a pocket mask (ventilation barrier), a first aid kit, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training unit, Oxygen unit, etc.

Who should take this course?
During the EFR Instructor course, you learn how to teach people emergency care skills based on internationally recognized guidelines. Under your instruction, your students will finish the course feeling confident with their new skills and ready to help someone in need.
Prerequisites :
- Age 18 or older
- Have completed a sanctioned course in adult and child/infant CPR
within the past 24 months - Have completed a sanctioned course in basic fi rst aid within the past
24 months - A trained medical professional (such as a paramedic, EMT, nurse practitioner, etc.)
- To enroll in an Instructor Crossover Program, you must hold a current CPR/first aid instructor rating with another qualifying organization
Training Period : 3 DAYS

Your role as an EFR Instructor is to be a coach that creates a positive learning environment. Along with learning how to structure and organize EFR courses, you practice:
- Presenting course content.
- Encouraging self-discovery in students.
- Evaluating student understanding and skill mastery during hands-on skills practice.
- Managing effective scenario-based learning experiences.
You may be able to get college credit for the Emergency First Response Instructor course.
