NB Divers is a PADI 5 Star CDC located in the heart of Seoul, and one of the highest-rated dive education centers in all of Korea.
“CDC” isn’t just a logo on our door. It means that every course we run, every certification we issue, and every diver we send into the water meets the strictest standards in recreational diving. It means our courses are ISO-certified. It means your PADI card from NB Divers is even recognized by universities for academic credit.
We have been operating since 2000. We hold the PADI Outstanding Service Award, 26 years, a recognition given to only a handful of centers worldwide for sustained excellence. We are an Authorized PADI TecRec Center, certified to train technical divers in deep and overhead environments.
But what we’re most proud of? Every single one of those 10,000+ divers went home safer, more confident, and more connected to the ocean than when they arrived.
THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
A Sea Slug
on a Descent Line
NB stands for Nudibranch, the tiny, vivid sea slug that Charlie spotted clinging to a descent line on his very first dive in February 1995.
The water was 4°C. He wore a 5mm wetsuit and two layers of work gloves. He didn’t know what he was looking at. But that small white creature stopped him cold.
In the ocean, even what you don’t expect becomes beautiful.
That moment became a philosophy. And that philosophy became NB Divers.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Charlie Jung
CEO & Founder · PADI Course Director
Charlie has been underwater for 31 years since his first dive in 1995, logging more than 6,000 dives across every environment, cold water, caves, technical depths, and open ocean.
If I had wanted to teach carelessly and hand out cards, I would have quit long ago. The same certification does not mean the same skill, the difference is in how you learned at the very beginning. So I chose training that stays with you for life, not training that just gets you done fast. That is why the person who stopped in front of a tiny sea slug in 4°C water in 1995 still gets in the water today.

NB Divers is led by a resident PADI Course Director, the highest rank in recreational diving, supported by IDC Staff Instructors, Master Scuba Diver Trainers (MSDT), and specialist instructors across technical and specialty disciplines.
Every instructor at NB Divers is personally mentored and evaluated to the same standard. You won’t find a gap between our senior staff and the person teaching your first pool session.

BEFORE YOU JOIN
We Don’t Take
Everyone
NB Divers limits the number of students per cohort. Instead of taking more people, we chose to give each person enough time and feedback. So before we work together, a few things you should know.

We keep classes small
Each cohort is limited. When seats fill, you may need to wait for the next one. We’ll repay the wait with training that’s worth it.

Safety and standards come first
PADI standards and safety take priority. If conditions aren’t right, we don’t push through, we find the safest path together.

We meet on value, not price
Rather than cutting the price, we protect the value of the training you receive. If you’re looking for the cheapest option, there may be a better fit elsewhere.

NB Divers welcomes divers from around the world. Our team is comfortable teaching and communicating in English, and we regularly work with expats, foreign residents, and visiting divers continuing their certification in Korea.
Korea’s waters are extraordinary, and largely unknown to the international diving community. From the subtropical waters of Jeju Island to the cold, crystal-clear visibility of the East Sea in winter, this is a destination worth diving.
